Char Siew Pan Fried Bun

 The buns were very soft with char siew inside.  It is best to serve hot with a cup of tea. 



Ingredients:-
300g   Hong Kong flour
5g       Yeast
5g       Baking powder
70g     Sugar
3g       Shortening
120ml  Water (120 - 150ml)

Fillings:-
120g  chopped spring onion
122g  barbecued pork cubes
Some barbecued pork sauce 

Coating:-
Egg
White sesame seeds

Method:-
  1. Combined the daugh ingredients, kneed into smooth dough.  Let it proof for one hour.
  2. Cooked fillings and keep in fridge for 30 mins for later use.
  3. Divide the dough into 10 portions.
  4. Wrap in filling and seal it well.  Flatten.
  5. Brush the surface of the bun with beaten egg, roll in sesame seeds, leave to rise for 30 mins
  6. Steam over high heat for 5 mins.  Use the middle heat to pan fry till golden.
